Originally from the Chicago area, I moved to Washington in 1957. I studied art at Western High School in Georgetown with Leon Berkowitz, a well known Washington Color Field School artist and teacher. Later I attended classes at the Corcoran School of Art where I studied photography with Mark Power and at GWU where I learned printmaking under Fuller Griffith.

With a background in computer programming, I developed an interest in computer graphics and web development. I attended classes for Adobe Creative Suite and HTML to enhance my abilities as a self-taught Photoshop user. I use film cameras, toy cameras, digital cameras and a flat bed scanner in my work. The scanner is used much like a camera by scanning objects into the computer to capture the image. These scanned images are then manipulated using Photoshop to create abstractions of the originals. A long time resident of Capitol Hill I am currently serving on the Capitol Hill Art League Steering Committee.
